How to make Pork and Chicken Adobo


Adobo is one of the favovite Filipino dishes. Filipinos love to cook Adobo wherever he or she is around the world. You can either cook it with pork, chicken, or mix of pork and chicken whichever you like. You can even put vegetables like string beans (sitaw) or you can cook vegetable Adobo like Adobong Sitaw, Adobong Kangkong, Spinach Adobo. It's easy to prepare and cook.


Ingredients:

1/2 kilo pork, cut in cubes
1/2 kilo chicken, cut into pieces
Or: 1 kilo pork or 1 kilo chicken
1 head garlic, minced
½ cup soy sauce
1 cup vinegar
2 cups of water
5 laurel leaves (bay leaves)
4 tbsp of cooking oil, preferably olive oil
salt and ground black pepper to taste


Cooking Directions:

In a big sauce pan or wok, combine the vinegar, soy sauce, salt, ground pepper, garlic, water, laurel leaves, and the meat (either pork, chicken, or both). Bring to a boil. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes or until meat is tender. Remove the meat from the sauce pan. On another pan, fry the meat for a few minutes until golden brown. Mix the meat back to the sauce. Bring to a boil and simmer for another 5 minutes.
